Chula Vista, San Diego ADU

On this project our clients property setup was perfect to construct a completely detached & private companion unit in the rear side end of the lot. The end result will be a 1,000 sqft. show piece of 2 bedrooms 1.5 baths with beautiful vaulted ceilings in the main living areas and above average ceiling height all around. This ADU is currently being framed and is posed to be a beautiful addition to the neighborhood.

On this project, our designer, Rummy Dechner was able to configure the companion unit in such a way that the main home and the new home are completely separate and private from one another. This is crucial to a-lot of homeowners thinking about adding an ADU of their own. Obviously a large benefit of owning a single family home is the privacy that comes with it so its important to have an architect thats able to configure the space in the best way possible for optimal privacy and accessibility. This specific lot had a wide enough width to allow for a ‘flag lot’ ADU. Meaning there is a drive way in the front of the property that leads you into the back where this new unit is located. A new gate will be added in the back to separate the yard into two. Giving both the homeowner and potential ADU tenant separate private yards to enjoy. This is a win-win for both homeowner and future tenant of the companion unit.
