Serra Mesa, San Diego Detached ADU & JDU

On this project our client had the perfect setup to construct a completely detached & private ADU ‘granny flat’. The end result is a upstairs 1,200 sqft. masterpiece of 3 bedrooms 2 bath with a 900 sqft. downstairs garage and a separate 1 bed 1 bath JDU downstairs. This ADU came out looking better than most homes.

In this case, our architect, Rummy Dechner was able to configure the companion unit in such a way that the main home and the new home are completely separate and private from one another. This specific lot has a large ally way in the back of the property allowing for direct access. Giving both the homeowner and potential ADU/JDU tenants separate private yards to enjoy.
